So, You Have to Teach Math!

Sometimes educators end up in the generalist role whereby they teach all or almost all of the subjects. The unfortunate part about this, is that if math isn't your desired area, the attitude may leak forward in your teaching and spoil the chances for some of the students. So, embrace it and conquer the fear. Treat math like a game or puzzles to be solved. Most of all, grab all the professional development you can get. One of my favorite organizations is the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) I'm a big fan of 'conquer your fears'. Embrace it with enthusiasm and your students will only benefit from your positive attitude and that's half the battle.
