"I Didn't Get Algebra Until I Understood the Distributive Property"

Friday September 19, 2008
That's what a colleague of mine told me just last week! We were talking about Algebra and that beginning Algebra is often the first time students get 'stuck'. He said, 'I really didn't get algebra until I could make sense of the distributive property'. I asked how that 'aha' moment happened and he said the teacher finally put it in such a way that it made sense. Prior to that he said he was mechanically and procedurally moving and combining terms 'without a clue'.

Hopefully, you'll find this a user friendly tutorial. And, once you review it, give these Using the Distributive Property Worksheets with answers a go!
