Worksheets Added This Week

Monday December 1, 2008
This week, you'll find 9 new worksheets on finding equivalent fractions. However, before students are able to determine what the equivalent fractions are, they will need to know what multiples (least common multiples) are and they'll need to understand common denominators. A quick way to determine common multiples is to ask the students to 'skip count'. For instance, to find the least common multiples of 5 and of 8, we skip count by 5 and then by 8. (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 8, 16, 24, 32, 40) from this we know that the least common multiple of 5 and 8 is 40.
