New Worksheets This Week.....

Wednesday January 7, 2009
This week you'll find 9 worksheets (with answers on the 2nd page) on Reducing Fractions to their lowest terms. Something to remember when reducing fractions is to be sure the child understands what common factors are. It is important to tap into the child's prior knowledge before moving on to a new concept.

More worksheets on equivalent fractions.

I am very thankful for the newest fracton sheets, however, I have been trying to get my students to think of “simplifying” fractions rather than “reducing” fractions. I feel the word simplifying makes comprehension of the concept much more applicable to the action we have known as reducing fractions.
