Alice in 'Mathland'
Lewis Carroll the Mathematician

Born on January 27th 1832, Lewis Carroll is well known for writing Alice in Wonderland, the children's popular classic. However, few know that Lewis Carroll was also a brilliant Mathematician. Lewis won the Christ Church Mathematical Lectureship award and held it for 26 years. Many feel that there's a great deal of mathematical logic in the writing of Alice in Wonderland.

Some of Lewis' more prominent mathematical books include:

  • The Fifth Book of Euclid Treated Algebraically
  • A Syllabus of Plane Algebraical Geometry
  • Euclid and His Modern Rivals
