These tests can be used to as a summative test or as a diagnostic to determine the level of understanding students have. There are a variety of concepts within the test and students should have had exposure to all operations (multiply, divide, add and subtract fractions as well as understanding common demoninators).
Fractions are one of the most difficult concepts for students to understand. Always try to make fractions concrete before moving to the paper/pencil version.
