How To Use Target Worksheets:
Each worksheet has a middle number in the center (target). The next ring around the target indicates the number the target number is to be multiplied by. The outer ring is the blank area to record the product (answer to the multiplication fact) of the target number and middle ring number. Therefore, when the target is 6, each number around the next ring is multiplied by 6.
Once children become comfortable with the target worksheets, start playing beat the clock with the worksheets. Copy several worksheets and used them over a period of a few weeks. Record how long it takes to complete the target worksheets to determine if automaticity is improving. The goal is to become fast and accurate when learning the multiplication facts and committing them to memory.
