With the vast amount of sites on the internet, it can be difficult to find some of the real gems out there. Today, I did and when I come across a gem like this one, I like to share it. Mathway is a beta online tool for solving math problems. Now remember, using tools effectively is crucial, checking your homework as opposed to having a tool like this doing your homework is key. You can enter your own problem or look up how to solve a problem. Most of the key topics (math, algebra, trig., precalculus, calculus and pre-algebra) are listed. But, don't take my advice, check this one out for yourself.

Sunday, October 5 is World Teacher's Day and the theme this year is 'Teachers Matter'. Show a teacher you care by saying thanks or by celebrating with a something special like a treat or a card. Every day teachers work to make the difference, to move student achievement forward and to bring students to their fullest potential. Show you care by taking time to say thanks.

Math phobics beware, The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) have put out a research request it calls Mathematical Challenges. Master teachers lead the videos which are broken down into 8 workshops.
