What To Do With All Those Lego Gifts!

Monday December 29, 2008
When I was young, my all time favorite toy was Lego. I loved to create a variety of structures with Lego. Those little toy building bricks would amuse me and my brother for hours on end. Of course the Lego available today in comparison with what I played with all those years ago has certainly come a long way. However, much of it does remain the same and it sure seems that Lego continues to be a staple in most toy boxes today.

I used to think I was pretty clever with my structures, but the amazing mathematical structures here go far beyond what I used to do. Be sure to challenge your kids or even yourself with the Mobius Strip, or the Klein Bottle or for an even greater challenge, give Bour's Surface a go!
To all of the users here at math.about.com, a sincere Happy New Year to you. Deb
